Holly Jolly Holidays: Day 5 "December Daily Album Inspiration"

December Daily albums created by the amazing Ali Edwards have become all the rage. These albums are geared to record your daily memories, activities, and traditions of the holiday season in one album. You can create the entire album ahead of time or you can create the album a page at a time.

We thought it would be fun to share some inspiration for the pages you can include in this book. One of the rules of a December Daily album is that THERE ARE NO RULES. You can incorporate fun layouts such as pocket pages, transparency pages, photo pages, journaling pages, and the list goes on and on. Below you will find ideas for starting your own album.

Cover Inspiration:

Lowri McNabb one of our amazing Fresh Face Designers created a beautiful December Daily album using elements from Echo Park Paper. I love the little details peeking out of her book (keep reading for an inside look at this fabulous album):

Stacy Rodriguez serves as one of our Facebook Contributors. She created this beautiful album using the "Season's Greetings" line. Here is the cover of her album:

We have a lot more ideas for your December Daily pages. Continue reading for additional creativity!

Interactive Page Ideas:

To create pages with interactive elements, plan ahead. Incorporate hinged items, journaling that slips out from behind a photo or items that fold out. Stacy created this amazing folder to add additional photos and journaling. Here is the page with the folder closed:

And here is the page with the folder opened:

Lowri has included lots of interactive details within the pages of her album. Here is one of her inner pages:

Fleur Smith, one of our favorite designers, also created an interactive flap page. You could easily add journaling on the striped patterned paper, following the lines as you write:

While the above page uses the "Holly Jolly Christmas" collection, this page (also designed by Fleur) uses the "Season's Greetings" collection. Note that the flap is closed on this version:

Pocket Page Idea:

Vanessa Menhorn, Fresh Face Designer, incorporated a pocket in this paper bag version of a December Daily. Look how you can pull the journaling or extra photo page from the opened bag:

Journaling Page Idea:

If you're wanting inspiration for a December Daily album page that focuses on journaling, Laurel Seabrook, another designer we just adore, suggests creating the layout and then printing out the journaling on strips of paper. You can then cut the strips into widths that perfectly fit your layout:

Here is another peek at Lowri's album and the way she has approached a page that might include a photo and/or journaling. See how she has left room for both journaling and a photo:

Transparency Page Idea:

In-House Design Team member Amy Heller created this beautiful layout using the "Season's Greetings" collection. You can stamp on a transparency with white Staz-On ink or you can build on a transparency that you already own. Amy layered and machine stitched beautiful papers both above and beneath her page to create this lovely layout:

Have you created a December Daily album focusing on Echo Park Paper products? We'd certainly love to see it! Simply include a link within the comments section below or upload your projects to our Facebook page where over 20,000 fans can see your amazing work!

These are all such amazing December Daily albums. I really want to make one and would love to use the Echo Park papers, but, I do not have any right now and there is not anywhere near me that sells Echo Park. Have to do everything on line. Guess it is time to do a search. Thanks for sharing. patnbobcuddy at gmail dot com
